I remember my first ever trip trick-or-treating as a kid. My mom had dressed me up as a zombie princess- wobbly tiara and all! A little ketchup smeared around the lips, unbrushed curls and some raspberry jam on my cheeks and I was all ready to go out and get as much candy as I could. It was one of the most exciting times of my childhood!
Twenty odd years down the line, it’s Halloween again! Trick-or treat expeditions may be only for the tiny ones, but Halloween still remains one of my favorite holidays (a close third to Christmas and Easter!). Nothing compares to the exhilaration you feel when you play dress-up (I guess it’s the drama queen in me talking!).
Come Friday night and it’s the neighborhood Halloween bash- something I look forward to every year. I just need an excuse to party and Halloween’s perfect! It’s time to get into character again!
Over the past few days, Lucas and I have been debating over who goes as what. Here’s what we finally decided (after a LOT of disagreements!).
We’re gonna go dressed up as Frankenstein and his bride!
Lucas gets to wear a classic tux with some green gunk slathered on his face and black eyes! And I get to dress up in white (another of my favorite colors!). While my make-up includes a whole lot of black eyes, black lips and a pale face, my favorite part is the elaborate hairdo sported by Frankenstein’s bride- a huge beehive-esque bun with streaks of white to complete a total punk look!
My little Lilac doesn’t want to be left out! We got this tiny Jack-O-Lantern costume for her with a little pumpkin stalk on the head. She’s gonna look the cutest!
Can’t wait for Friday! Happy Halloween, beautiful people!
