So where was I? Oh yes, my unplanned somersault over Lucas and his prunes! At that point of time, I was so embarrassed that I just wanted to remain hidden below the fainting chair but I knew I had to move so I had to make a little extra effort to step away from him and try to not look embarrassed.
I scrambled to sit up and started apologizing profusely and lifted my eyes to look into the bluest, warmest eyes I have ever seen. So of course I turn into a blubbering idiot, acutely aware that I have just turned a fascinating shade of flamingo pink. Over the din of steady ringing in my ears I could hear the class snickering. But what amazed me was the warmth with which Blue Eyes was smiling at me. A warm albeit amused grin that reached right up to his ocean blue eyes and crinkled them.
I’m going to marry this man.
“Hi, I’m Kathleen.”
Are those laughter lines?
“I’m sorry. I was late for class.”
“The pleasure was all mine.”
Is he TEASING me? Are those…laughter lines?
“No, it was all mine.”
Take THAT, Blue eyes!
“No no, most definitely mine.”
He’s going to be my baby daddy.
All I could see was Lucas for some reason.
At that point of time, even though I had no idea who he was, I didn’t even know his name but somehow I still felt something similar to closeness towards him. Obviously, I had just won the gold medal for catapulting over his Hercules-like body – we definitely found a special place in each other’s heart thanks to this encounter. I guess that was the first sign. Throughout our “courtship” there were these signs which convinced me that he was the one and only for me.
This entire exchange lasted all of twenty seconds, but those twenty seconds as life would have it, brought me to my husband, my love, my life, my countryman.
Speak soon, beautiful people!
