Do you know my biggest pet peeve? It’s not dirty socks hidden under the couch or a wet towel thrown on the bed or unwashed dishes in the sink (although these do features in my top ten list of the peeves!)
This one’s not hard to guess! It’s… wait for it… make-up gone wrong! In fact, it may be one of your pet peeves too or worse still, you might be making these blunders and not know it (trust me, we’ve all been there!)
Wanna know the most common make-up bloopers? (I can see some of you cringing right now!)
A lot of bright make-up
You don’t have to light up the room you know! Apart from the fact that it’s blindingly distracting, applying too much of bright make-up- bright eyes, lips and face- can take away from your natural beauty! Instead, pick ONE feature you want to highlight and work on that.
Wrong shade of foundation
Caking on the foundation, especially if it’s miles away from your skin tone can make you look like a walking disaster. Stay away from applying shades that don’t match your skin color. Always ask for a sample and try some on before buying the one to match your skin tone perfectly. A tip – Make sure the foundation seamlessly blends in daylight.
Lipstick on chapped lips
This is one blooper that can be easily avoided by exfoliating and moisturizing your lips regularly with some petroleum jelly (my fav lip exfoliator is a baby brush!). Lipstick on cracked lips is a complete no-no!
Drawn on brows
All of us may not be blessed with the perfect thickness when it comes to eyebrows, but go slow with that eyebrow pencil if you have sparse brows! Too much penciling in can make it go from bad to worse in the matter of seconds!
Hitting your pillow with make-up on
This is the biggest blunder you can make when it comes to make-up. Your skin needs to breathe at night and make-up that is left on overnight will end up making you look puffy and tired the next day. Plus it will cake up and won’t come off easily! Stay Away!
A make-up blunder can strike anytime- don’t let the make-up police arrest you! Brush up on your applying techniques and soon you’ll master the art of putting on make-up (just stick to a few rules!). More amazing make-up secrets coming up. Love ya’ll, beautiful people!
